Spectacular Restomod (old car - new technology) We have already seen some vehicles. Regardless of whether 1974 Porsche 911 RS WidebodyFord Mustang Mach 1 or even the Ringbrothers 1948er Madam V, all were absolute highlights. But in our opinion, this Mercedes Benz 280S is the most spectacular and at the same time most beautiful specimen of all. He comes from the US tuner Eurowise and carries at least half of our complete Tuning Wikipedia in and on yourself. from Motorswap, about the chopping of the roof, towards Suicide doors to air suspension is there really everything that you have ever heard before. The classic W108 (350LS) is now ahead of us with the tuning vehicle 2019 on tuningblog.eu.

All modifications were made in absolute perfection and definitely the cost factor played almost no role here. The conversion was created under the direction of Mike Ngo is the owner of the car refiners Eurowise in the US state of North Carolina. Discussions about a possible defacement of a classic have no place in our opinion. The vehicle is great and beyond any doubt - point! (Of course you may still comment ^ ^) But now enough of the praise, what has happened on the 69er Mercedes-Benz 280 S, which has arisen without concrete specifications of the owner! And at this point we want to start with the interior. There is a full nappa leather interior with a mix of velor.

new materials and old charm in perfection

A highlight here is the Hexagon Quilting which you certainly will not see every day. And also the used carbon does not want to look out of place in the classic. Reason are the many modern accents of the dashboard. The highlight here is certainly the arrangement of the instruments including the eye-catching Ferrari 458-style tachometer in yellow. And certainly it is also the Mercedes C63 AMG sports steering wheel with fully usable multifunction buttons. There was also a brand new hi-fi system with Bluetooth whose subwoofers have even made it into the trunk. In addition countless other smaller details such as electric windows or electric door locks. To enumerate everything would go beyond the scope.

So let's go over to the changes outside. Mike wanted to unify the US hot-rod style with the timeless, elegant body of the W108. The body was clipped, which means that both the side indicators, the Mercedes emblems or the trim have disappeared. The most striking change, however, is the already mentioned chopping of the roof. ABC columns have been shortened and with the help of another donor vehicle everything has been adapted to the smaller conditions, which of course also applies to the discs all around. But also the headliner, the seals or the moldings had to be processed accordingly. And a highlight is also revealed when the doors are opened.

Suicide doors never existed at W108

The rear doors open immediately opposite and thus they are real suicidal doors. For this purpose, special hinges were developed and the door handles to open are now in the middle and thus directly next to each other. The dim dual headlamps of the W108 are replaced in their original look by state-of-the-art quad projector headlamps, so the light quality is absolutely contemporary. The principle of the front bumper still corresponds to that of the original, but it is much more powerful and floats only a few millimeters above the ground. This is made possible by a front spoiler from the Alpina E38 BMW 7er, which of course had to be adapted to the conditions of the W108 and the new engine.

The 650 PS strong 5,3-liter Chevrolet V8 engine, including 6 gear T56 Borg-Warner transmission, namely, necessarily needs a large intercooler and unmistakably a mighty oil cooler. The reason for the cooling is obvious because on the right side sits a big Warner-S366 turbocharger which really warms up the engine. And so you can see the dreamlike spectacle at any time, the W108 comes complete without bonnet. And the suspension is spectacular. An air suspension system with air-lift performance control was installed, which ensures that the chrome-plated 18 inch alloy wheels, especially on the rear axle, disappear in the wheel arches on request.

Not visible is the brake system behind which Alus. Here, the tuner built a system of Wilwood with 8 pistons and 380 mm large discs on the front and 4 pistons on the rear axle for a species-appropriate delay ensures. The rear shows up with a sports exhaust system with two tailpipes on the right and only the Mercedes star. Everything else became special here too clean held. As with the interior, you could mention countless other details here, but we think that everything important has been mentioned by us and we wish you a lot of fun with the pictures.
