BMW 525i Sedan (E34) with 560 HP turbocharger!

It is undoubtedly one of the tuning classics in the BMW portfolio and it is hard to imagine the global tuning scene without it. The good old BMW five of the E34 generation, which received a successor in 1996, will still be loved by its fans in 2022. Its no-frills, no-nonsense design in particular is also well received today. Today we would like to introduce you to an example of the series, which is based in the USA and has been modified by its owner.

Subtle exterior in Calypso red!

At first glance, the E34 looks like a slightly tuned, well-preserved vehicle. Everything is consistent and the 5er, which would already be able to do so in Germany due to its age, a H-plates to wear looks like one Sleeper finest goodness. Nobody would suspect insane performance under the hood. And also the OZ rims all around as well as that Brake upgrade on the front axle are not necessarily an indicator of a very special kind of engine tuning. Before the car was turbocharged, it received other components such as lowering and minor optical revisions. But now we come to the heart of the tuning, namely the drive.

2,5-litre turbocharged R6 petrol engine

The completely modified R560 turbo petrol engine, which drives the classic BMW, delivers a full 650 hp at the wheel, or in other words, around 790 hp at the drive shaft, and an insane 6 Newton meters of maximum torque. These are phenomenal values that can still be found in today's super sports cars. Shifting is via a five-speed manual gearbox reinforced clutch and the power is transmitted exclusively to the rear axle. A locking differential, which provides more traction, is also installed. We are sure that the E34 on the quarter mile makes a good figure. This is also necessary, because a whopping 15.000 US dollars were invested in engine tuning.

Our conclusion:

  • Is this the ultimate sleeper? We don't know, but at least he's close. We're blown away by so much power in an E34. Compliments to the tuner who finalized the project.
