Diamond Edition Carbon Shelby Cobra
The complete Carbon body of the 1965 Shelby Cobra was already revealed in early 2022 (we reported). However, it took time year and a half, until the Diamond edition was completed as a complete racing car with all the necessary components. And now, at the Monterey Car Week 2023, the one-of-a-kind vehicle entitled to the 60th anniversary of the carbon Shelby Cobra race car will be unveiled to an audience for the first time. The event attracts interest from automakers worldwide.
From Gordon Murray Automotive to many other brands presenting special editions or completely new models and concepts, everything is there at Car Week. It's a collection of shows and events that acts like a magnet. And Classic Recreations also wants to make an impression in California and allows a first look at the Diamond Edition Shelby Cobra race car made of carbon - a tribute to Carroll Shelby and his 60-year design and engineering heritage. According to companies only 10 copies manufactured, and during Monterey Car Week some of the coveted spots are available for those interested.
"We developed the Diamond Edition Cobra by asking ourselves: 'What car would Carroll build today with current technology?'explains Jeff Stone, CEO of Classic Recreations. "Our team painstakingly recreated the unique vehicle to carry on the legacy and vision of one of the world's largest carmakers."
