Fantastic BMW M2 conversion with S65B40-V8 on F21 basis!

Can you still contact me? this BMW M2 hatchback with V8 biturbo from the X5 M / X6 M remember? There is now another similar conversion that is at least as cool and also has a V8 under the hood. This time, however, from the M3 generation E90/E92. In other words, a pure sucker. Specifically, it is the 4,0-liter S8B65 V40 that is installed. But first things first! As a basis took "Mr. Naturally Aspirated“ (Instagram See link at end of post) a BMW 116i of the F21 generation and turned it into a Frankenstein monster. The M2 hatchback was formerly painted silver and has been completely cannibalized. After that, the look completely changed, there was the V8, a new chassis, bigger brakes and an interior with a mix of different M models.

crazy BMW M2 conversion

From the outside, the F21 looks like an M2 CS hatchback. He got the front end including the apron, the grille, the headlights, the hood and widened front fenders from the M2 CS and even the golden CS rims are not missing. There was also the beautiful Frozen Deep Green finish from the M5 CS. And the side section was also equipped with widened fenders, which rounds off the look of the "typical" M vehicle including the rear bumper of an M140i.

In contrast to the M140i, however, the "M2 conversion" enjoys four exhaust pipes instead of the double two. At first glance, one might think that the one-of-a-kind was simply transformed into an M2 CS hatchback, but that's not true. Because it is a mix of many M parts from BMW. As already mentioned, working under the hood is not the 450 hp S55B30 of the M2 CS, but the 4,0-liter Sauer V8 from the E92 M3.

Carbon bucket seats in the cabin

This is ideally coupled with a six-speed manual gearbox and puts the power on the road via the front and rear axles and the drive shafts of an M4. The M brake system also comes from the BMW M4. And in the interior, the compact athlete shows itself with new carbon bucket seats and other details from a brand new G87 M2 and a G80 M3. The seats etc. have only been reupholstered in brown leather and therefore look different.

For us, the vehicle is currently one of the coolest conversions in 2023. It looks fantastic, it's still a practical hatchback but with one of BMW's best engines. The still existing six-speed manual transmission is also an extremely cool decision. It's sort of the stuff BMW tuning dreams are made of.
