Wide and fast: +800 PS Lotus Exige widebody as "Rotus"!

In recent years we have seen countless Lotus Exige with non-branded engines. But this specimen of a first-generation Exige is particularly violent. The vehicle was recently in Speedhunters magazine published by Stefan Kotze and we would of course like to show you the unique piece. As an absolute highlight, a Mazda 13B Wankel engine from the RX-7 FD sits under the hood. It is an extremely unusual one Motorswap which ensures that the Exige was nicknamed "Rotus". And the engine is far from the maximum 280 PS and 314 NM of the last expansion stage. Using 88 mm precision turbo PT8891-Gen2-CEA supercharger and 30 psi boost pressure, large intercooler, E100 ethanol fuel and many other changes, the engine generates an insane 737 HP "at the wheel“Which corresponds to an engine output of over 800 hp.

only 743 kg empty weight

And this extreme power meets an empty weight of just 743 kg. In terms of power-to-weight ratio, it puts almost every motorcycle in the shade. The extremely low overall weight of the Exige, for example, enables a comprehensive GRP widebody kit in combination with Lexan side windows, a Lexan windscreen and the completely new GRP engine cover. And much else was done to save even more weight. Because the copper-colored 17 x 9 and 18 x 10 inch motorsport wheelset with Toyo Proxes RA1s tires at the front (235 / 40R17) and Toyo Proxes R888R tires at the rear (295 / 30R18) is particularly light. With many other components, the total weight is reduced to less than 800 kg, which is an absolute fabulous value.

BC Racing coilover kit & AP Racing brake

Other important changes include an extensively adjustable BC Racing coilover kit, an AP Racing brake system with improved discs and new brake pads all around and a sequential Hewland transmission. Are you then in the empty cabin with Sparco steering wheel and driver's seat in the middle (Recaro Lotus sports seat) lashed down, nothing stands in the way of the ultimate hell ride across various race tracks. An incredible vehicle with an insane number of changes and a phenomenal power-to-weight ratio. If we receive timely information about further changes, there is of course an update for this report. It is best to subscribe to our feed and if there is something new, you will be informed immediately. We hope you enjoy looking at the pictures.
