It is hard to believe but the model series of the Mercedes C63 AMG of the type W204 will be 10 years old next year. Also the M 156 KE 63 called V8 petrol engine with its 6,2 liter displacement and 487 HP (or even 507PS as Edition 507) is of course not excluded. One would think that the steam hammer V8 is mercilessly inferior to the new W205 with M 177 DE 40 AL V8 Bi-Turbo and up to 510PS in the "S" version and the chic taillights of the 205 model will probably remain the only point of view for the predecessor . But far from it when RENNtech has a hand in it. The tuner yesterday showed a 630PS version on its side, which provides a brutal 772NM torque and probably just gives the new one a tired smile and the rear view. RENNtech calls the whole "RENNtech C74 (C 74) and at the same time refers to the fact that it is unfortunately only a concept car. Incidentally, the tuner does not achieve the enormous increase in performance by means of charging but with almost classic engine tuning.
In addition to chip tuning software, the Stuttgart-based man is getting new stainless steel manifolds, an X-Pipe, a new Air-Box intake system, an 82mm throttle valve housing and a roaring Akrapovice titanium sports exhaust system! An extremely potent V8 naturally aspirated engine, which can almost be described as exotic, is ready. In addition to the increase in performance, RENNtech also gives the C74 a quantum look that includes a body kit and a set of chic ADV.1 Wheels alloy wheels in 19 inches. After the tuning cure that the C63 was allowed to endure, and which makes it the C74, it is now much stronger, more individual and more dynamic than the production version and probably shows most of the bi-turbo / compressor variants its taillights. If you are thinking of buying a C63 AMG in the future or already own one, RENNtech is definitely an interesting starting point when it comes to making the vehicle significantly stronger and also differentiating it from the production model.
